De eerste post

Zojuist mijn eigen blogspot gecreeerd. Ik heb nog niet zo'n heel goed idee wat ik er mee ga doen.
Ga er maar van uit dat er met enige regelmaat wat nieuws gepubliceerd zal worden over de Kastanjehof, over karate, over de paasshow van Akasha, school voor klassieke rijkunst, over Onderwijs Wereldwijs.

Some post will be in Dutch, some will be in English, especially when I think that a post might be of any interest for anyone looking on the net for music or information on karate.


"About me"

Because of the fact that information about me in the menu on the right takes too much place you can find this information here:

Born in the city of Helmond in the Netherlands I moved to Nijmegen to study Law (administrative law, comparative public law and policy analysis).
I started working with Olon, an organisation representing the interests of loacal public broadcasters.

Later on I worked as legal advisor for the Netherlands Broadcast Transmitter Company Nozema.

Not really fed up with legal issues but more or less looking for a broader playing field I came to work for the Centre for Global Education (CMO) of the Nijmegen Radboud University. Here I'm leading a project called Onderwijs Wereldwijs in which we educate primary school children on daily life and culture of Africa and on the United Nations Millenniumgoals target #3: "Ensure that, by 2015, children everywhere, boys and girls alike, will be able to complete a full course of primary schooling".
The project ends in a festival with 800 children in the Afrika Museum in Berg en Dal near Nijmegen.

I also have a black belt degree in Shotokan karate and since 1987 I work as a karate instructor at the University Sportdepartment.
